Once you have made your selection, purchasing your birds is easy. There are two ways that you can contact me to arrange for the purchase and shipment of your birds:
Simply send an email with the subject line: Blue Ribbon Finches Purchase to:
In the body of the email include your name, your email address, and the id number of the bird(s) you wish to purchase (found under the bird’s picture).
Or, for a more personal experience, you can also contact me by phone at:
Just ask for Amber! If for some reason I miss your call, please leave a brief voice mail message stating your name, a callback number and that your are wishing to purchase birds from Blue Ribbon Finches, and I will return your call just as soon as I am able to.
From here I will give you the information you will need to send me your payment.
I accept payment via PayPal (preferred) or a cashier’s check or money order. Once you have contacted me with the id numbers of the birds you would like to purchase, I will give you the information you will need to send your payment. As soon as your payment has cleared I will ship your birds within 24-48 hours. I am sorry, but I cannot ship your birds unless I have your payment in full. I sell birds on a first come first serve basis, and I cannot hold birds unless they are paid for in full.
Information that I will need from you to provide to the post office:
Your First and Last Name
Your Home Address (no P.O. Boxes)
Your City, State and Zip Code
A Working Telephone Number (Used by the USPS to contact you as soon as your birds arrive)
So what happens next?
As soon as I ship your birds to you at the post office, I will contact you in what ever way you prefer (you will provide this in the email with your shipping information, or during the phone call if that is your chosen contact method) with your tracking number so that you have a way to keep track of where your birds are.
In one to two days your birds will arrive at your local USPS office or sorting station. As soon as your box is scanned by the post office, they will call you immediately to pick up your birds. Please remember that in some cases this means getting a phone call from the post office as early as 5 a.m.!
When you get your birds home, remove them from the shipping box at once. We use high quality live avian shipping boxes, but your birds will still be under stress during the trip. Give them time to acclimate to your home and try to let them rest for a day or two in a place that is comfortable in temperature, not too bright and above all, as quiet as possible. In a few days, with some stress free rest and good food, they should return to their normal behavior.
Blue Ribbon Finches recommends that your quarantine your new birds for at least one week after their arrival, before introducing them to your flock. This is for the safety of your new birds and also for your already established flock.
